Wear Your Words! South Elementary honors our students who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices for learning by participating alongside the AAC community in celebrating October as International AAC Awareness Month! On October 12th, the team at South wore signs, which included words and pictures, to model the use of language for students as part of their project called #Wearyourwords.
“The goal is to raise awareness of augmentative and alternative communication”, stated Melody Meyer, principal, South Elementary, “and to inform the public about the many different ways in which people communicate using communication devices.”
Thank you South Elementary teachers and staff! We are proud to offer curriculum for all students.
