Our Classrooms

South Elementary offers a range of classroom services to meet the needs of our students. Currently, we have eleven general education classrooms along with Title 1, Resource, Speech, and three rooms for Special Education. We also have rooms designated for Music, Art, P.E., Library, and Technology specials. South has a full time counselor, nurse, and secretary. Adult and Child Behavioral Services are also available. South Elementary School is working towards all teachers becoming certified in digital citizenship. In addition, South Elementary School is also working towards becoming a Center of Excellence with LAMP (Language Acquisition for Motor Planning).

Communication is important. Teachers can be reached by phone, e-mail, or a conference can be set up. Some teachers use programs such as Dojo or Seesaw to communicate with parents.
Special awards are given for perfect attendance, All A honor roll, character counts, Character is my superpower program, and learning and mastering math facts.

South uses various assessment or technology programs such as Lexia, Accelerated Reader, NWEA, Reading Eggs, Math Seeds, Seesaw, Google Classroom, Type to Learn, and Spelling City.
We would encourage parents to login to Family Access in Skyward to stay informed about their student’s information and grades. This service will allow parents to view their child’s attendance, grades, schedule, food service balance, progress, assignments, and emergency information.
