Enrollment Information

Thank you for your interest in the MSD of Martinsville. Our online enrollment for new students including Brooklyn STEM Academy, Centerton Sparks, and Green Township Aggies Prekindergarten, Title I Prekindergarten, Kindergarten and first time students to our district is open for the 2024-2025 school year.

Transfer Student Registration is for students who elect to change from one elementary school to another but live within the district. Transfer Student Registration is also for students who would like to transfer into the MSD of Martinsville. Our Returning Student Registration will begin in late Spring 2024. Returning Student Registration is for current students who will return to school in 2024-2025.

We offer two alternative education programs for our students: Hammons Alternative School and Artesians Online. Hammons is an opportunity for students to complete their CORE 40 graduation requirements in a smaller setting located on the campus of Martinsville High School. Artesians Online also assists students in competing their Core 40 graduation requirements but is strictly online; students will work from home. To learn more, please see our information below.

New Student Enrollment

Our online registration process is through Skyward Family Access and must be completed using a desktop or laptop computer. Registration will not work using a Skyward Family Access mobile app. Computer assistance is available at the Central Education Center or by calling your child’s school.

When enrolling a student for the first time, the following documentation is needed:

•Birth Certificate • Parent ID • Vaccination Records • Proof of Custody (if applicable)

These items may be uploaded while registering online or brought to your child’s school. Kindly make an appointment with your school’s office team.

(The only difference in the application is that returning parents already have an active login/password for our database called Skyward Family Access.)

Transfer Student Online Enrollment
Transfer Within School District (Elementary Only K-4)

A family that wishes to transfer their child from the elementary school that they have been assigned to based on their home address to a different school within the MSD of Martinsville School District will need to contact the school they want their child to attend.  Transportation will not be provided for an elementary transfer.

Out of School District Transfer (K-12)

A family that wishes to transfer their child from a school outside of the district will need to fill out the enrollment form. Go to the new student enrollment link below to enroll. Enroll your child in the school that you would like for him/her to attend. The school that your child will be attending will have you complete the Out of District Transfer Form.

Kindergarten Kickoff

Join us Thursday, March 28th at the MHS Field house for the Kindergarten Kickoff.  While there you will be able to learn about our many departments here at the MSD of Martinsville.

Enrollment

We will begin enrolling on March 1, 2024 for students who will begin kindergarten in the 2024-2025 academic school year! We have seven elementary schools to stimulate learning, create academic success, foster student collaboration and introduce technology in a safe environment.

Students are ready to enter kindergarten if they turn 5 years old on or before October 1, 2024. To learn more about our district, we hold several events for future kindergarteners and their families: Kindergarten Fair, Kindergarten Orientation and Kindergarten Camp. Pre - K
On My Way PreK
The MSD of Martinsville is partnering with On My Way PreK to provide education by our trusted staff members. Scholarships are available to each of our 7 elementary preschool programs! Each student will be able to apply for a free tuition scholarship. You can apply for enrollment through Skyward Family Access using the link below. The form will direct you to complete the application process for On My Way PreK. If a family does not qualify for the On My Way PreK free tuition, there are still options to receive PreK services at a free or reduced cost.
Title I Prekindergarten

Title I is a federal program created to reduce the cost of preschool for students. If selected, applicants will receive their preschool education either free or at a lower rate. Applications for the 2024-2025 academic school year will open in March 2024. Title I preschool is an educational program for students located in four (4) of our elementary schools: Charles L. Smith Fine Arts Academy, Paragon Elementary, Poston Road Elementary and South Elementary School of Communications. Unfortunately, we do not offer Title 1 PreK at this time for students who reside in Centerton or Green Township. Brooklyn STEM Academy Prekindergarten

At Brooklyn STEM Academy Prekindergarten, formerly STEM Sprouts, your child will explore, experiment and learn through Project Lead the Way STEM curriculum. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math and is a new approach to hands-on learning. We transform our classrooms into an exciting world of curiosity, problem-solving and creativity all to prepare our students for kindergarten. 

Centerton Elementary Prekindergarten

At Centerton Elementary, our Pre-K Sparks will be immersed in a positive, engaging academic atmosphere that includes Project Lead the Way STEM curriculum wrapped in a family environment. You will be able to witness your child’s transformation into a confident Kindergartener through the ability to participate in digital announcements, musical productions, STEM curriculum, and the encouragement of a love of lifelong learning.

Green Township Elementary Prekindergarten

Pre-K at Green Township Elementary immerses your child in important foundational skills through fun and engaging learning activities. Problem-solving, inquiry, and creativity are important components of our program. These positive experiences will foster a natural love for learning as your child easily transitions to more difficult skills in kindergarten and beyond.
