COVID-19 Dashboard
• Tested positive for COVID-19 or diagnosed as COVID-19 positive by a healthcare provider.
• Student has been in the school or participating in school-sponsored extra-curricular activities while symptomatic AND/OR within the 48 hours prior to developing symptoms or when the student does not have symptoms, in the 48 hours prior to getting tested.This does not include non-school sponsored activities that may take place on school property.
• Teacher is defined as anyone who provides instruction (teacher, PE teacher, music teacher, etc.)
• Teacher has been in the school or participating in school-sponsored extra-curricular activities while symptomatic AND/OR within the 48 hours prior to developing symptoms, or in the 48 hours prior to getting tested when the teacher does not have symptoms.
• Staff is defined as anyone who works in the school who is not defined as a teacher (administration, teacher aide, janitorial staff, cafeteria staff, etc.)
• Staff has been in the school or participating in school-sponsored extra-curricular activities while symptomatic AND/OR within the 48 hours prior to developing symptoms, or in the 48 hours prior to getting tested when the staff does not have symptoms.
Some cases may impact multiple buildings, but will only be counted once in the final total.
Non-School cases are students, teachers, or staff within the MSD of Martinsville community who have tested positive, but were not present in school or participate in any extracurricular activity 48-hours prior to developing symptoms or testing positive if asymptomatic. These cases are not reported on the Indiana State Department of Health School Reporting Database because they do not meet the definition of a school-based case.
• School cases are teachers or staff employed by the MSD of Martinsville who have tested positive, and were present in a K-12 school building or participated in an extracurricular activity 48-hours prior to developing symptoms or testing positive if asymptomatic. These cases are reported to the Indiana State Department of Health School Reporting Database because they meet the definition of a school based case.
• Non-School cases are teachers or staff employed by the MSD of Martinsville who have tested positive, but were not present in a K-12 school building or participate in any extracurricular activity 48-hours prior to developing symptoms or testing positive if asymptomatic. Staff members who were not in a K-12 school building (ex. CEC, transportation barn, maintenance facilities) will also be recorded as non-school cases. These cases are not reported on the Indiana State Department of Health School Reporting Database because they do not meet the definition of a school based case.
• Staff is defined as anyone who works in the school who is not defined as a teacher (administration, teacher aide, janitorial staff, cafeteria staff etc.)
Number of students who are participating in eLearning instruction due to a COVID-19 related reasons including: being identified as a close contact, exhibiting potential Covid-19 symptoms, someone in household experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, waiting for test results, someone in household waiting for test results, quarantine/isolation order from a medical professional or a positive diagnosis of COVID-19.
*Red numbers indicate days where close contacts were identified due to school based cases.
Number of teachers or staff who are absent due to a Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) qualifying reasons. Only building level staff or staff needed for daily student operations are included. These absences represent ONLY FFCRA absences and are not total absences taken for sick or personal days. U.S. Department of Labor FFCRA qualifying reasons:
1. is subject to a Federal, State, or local quarantine or isolation order related to COVID-19.
2. has been advised by a health care provider to self-quarantine related to COVID-19.
3. is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms and is seeking a medical diagnosis.
4. is caring for an individual subject to an order described in (1) or self-quarantine as described in (2).
5. is caring for a child whose school or place of care is closed (or child care provider is unavailable) for reasons related to COVID-19.
6. is experiencing any other substantially – similar condition specified by the Secretary of Health and Human Services, in consultation with the Secretaries of Labor and Treasury.
The Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) was not extended by Congress. For this reason, FFCRA expired on December 31, 2020. The following chart indicates staff absences for a COVID-related reason including:
1. Quarantine or isolation order due to being identified as a close contact or COVID positive.
2. Experiencing and COVID symptom(s) and waiting for diagnosis.
3. Household member(s) or close contact(s) are experiencing a COVID symptom(s) and waiting for diagnosis.
Each school within the district will have a color designated to it based on COVID cases.
Students in the classroom: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Wednesdays reserved for student eLearning from home, buildings deep cleaned, teacher professional training.

We are updating our district color status twice a week, Monday and Wednesday. The metrics being considered include, but are not limited to:
IDH County Metric Map (Morgan County)
•PRE-K through 12th grade recommendations based on the Level of Community Spread Chart
•COVID-19 Impact: Number of COVID-19 Positive Cases in each MSD of Martinsville school
•COVID-19-Related Absences: Number of students and/or staff on quarantine/isolation
•20%+ may trigger eLearning
•15-20% may trigger Hybrid
•10% or less return to traditional classroom learning
•Availability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
•Availability of Cleaning Products/Supplies
The above metrics are being considered independently and collectively. A decision to move to a different stoplight color will be determined in consultation with the Morgan County Health Department.

The Indiana Department of Health updates the status of their county dashboard on Wednesday at 12 pm. Please note this is independent of our MSD of Martinsville dashboard.
The Action Plan is based on which color the State Health Department has given to Morgan County: blue, yellow, orange or red.
