Artesians Online
In partnership with the Central Indiana Education Services Center (CIESC) and the Indiana Online Academy (IOA), the MSD of Martinsville is pleased to offer Artesians Online, a 100% online educational option for students in grades 5 through 12. Participating students will be considered district students pursuing graduation requirements but would receive all classroom instruction virtually.

Enrollment applications will open May 30, 2022 and accepted through June 30, 2022. For the 2022-2023 school year.
Technology
Yes. To plan for the upcoming school year a limited number of spaces are available. Applications for enrollment will open from Enrollment applications will open May 30, 2022 and accepted through June 30, 2022.
Please click on the appropriate link in the registration section above. If your child is a current student, the link will direct you to our Skyward Family Access database. Once logged in, you will see the following message on the main Family Access screen: "An Online Form is now available to fill out. The 22-23 Artesians Online Application Form is now available to fill out. This form is optional. Fill out Online form for your student". You will click on the link to fill out the online form. If your child is new to our district, the NEW TO MSD OF MARTINSVILLE link will direct you to our enrollment page. Please follow directions to create an MSD account. You will then receive an email with directions to log in to Skyward Family Access where you can complete the Artesians Online application. Please note: student must be enrolled at the MSD of Martinsville before applying to Artesians Online. If approved, selected students will receive an Online Learners Contract to complete before classes begin.
Once details are finalized, information will be communicated through emails.
District devices will be provided. Students will pick up their devices at the Central Education Center. Arrangements will be made at the end of the year to collect devices. Standard device fees apply.
The online instructor will be able to assist with any questions.

Coursework
Indiana Online Academy will provide the curriculum for students in grades 5-12.
Families will be responsible for fees associated with technology, the curriculum, and other online programs that the students use.
Yes. Students WILL NOT be “held harmless” in academics while learning in the online environment. Student grades earned in the online classrooms will be included in transcripts and become part of the student’s permanent record.

Yes. Indiana Online Academy will make certain that students meet these requirements.
Online students will not participate during the school day in in-person classes.
Extracurricular Activities
Yes. Students must meet the same requirements for participation and eligibility as students attending in person.
Instruction
Yes. All online instructors will be certified teachers.
Yes. Students will participate daily in synchronous (live) and asynchronous (recorded or provided) sessions.
The IEP for all online students will be followed. Staff will work with families to determine how best to meet the needs of students outlined in the IEP.
The online instructors will work to provide students the opportunity to discuss, collaborate, and interact with one another.
As part of the online learning agreement, students will be expected to participate in the online learning as well as complete work. If a student fails to complete work regularly, a conference will be held to determine next steps.
Assessment
Yes. Students will be required to participate in all required assessments. Statewide assessments MUST be completed by the student in person.
